Lane Boots fit true to size. We recommend that you purchase the size found most in your closet. Boots should fit snug to your foot. They should be neither too tight, nor too loose. Lane Boots are handcrafted with the finest leather, inside and out, and will mold to your foot. They do not take long to break in. The break-in period will vary depending on the type and thickness of the leather.

THE PERFECT FITTING BOOT

Lane Boots are bench-made and hand-lasted. We use an exclusive "last" (the foot model our boots are built around) to make sure they are comfortable, they fit great, and they look fabulous. We use an antibacterial, moisture-wicking, padded memory foam insole along with a flexible, leather covered insole and an impact absorbing heel cushion. The combination of these features contribute to the true-size fit and comfort of Lane Boots. We are confident you will want to wear them all day long.
  • The in-step of a boot is a key fit area. The in-step area should fit snug, not too loose, and not too tight on the foot.
  • It is normal for your foot to slip a little in the heel area when trying on a new boot. If the heel of your boot is too tight, the instep may also be too tight. A tight heel could indicate that the boot is too short. When the foot is positioned too close to the toe of the boot, the toes can be constrained in the boot.
  • The ball area of your foot should be positioned evenly with the widest part of the boot for the best fit.
  • Lane Boots are offered in a variety of boot shapes, toe shapes and heel shapes. The wider the toe area is, the more relaxed the toes will be. The higher the heel of the boot, the tighter the instep may be.

Lane Boots showed up in my Instagram feed so I decided to check out the website. I was so impressed with the styles, collections and colors that I just knew I had to have a pair or two! I settled on the Emma Jane but then came the hard part - choosing a color! It took me two weeks to decide but I went with the Terracotta in size 9 (big mistake on the size). I contacted customer service and they were awesome! They advised me to go with an 8.5 (I didn't listen). As I placed my order, Lane came back with a few more colors in the Emma Jane and offered me savings on a 2nd pair so I went with the Matte Black, also size 9. I placed my order on Monday and my boots arrived on Tuesday! The smell of leather as I opened both boxes was intoxicating! The craftsmanship, the softness of the leather and the overall look of these boots was amazing. Of course the boots were too big. I contacted customer service and they walked me through the exchange process. I printed out my return label on Wednesday, reordered both pair in 8.5 and both pair arrived on Friday! I love my Lane Emma Jane Boots! The fit and comfortable is amazing! The boots look so good on and I wear my boots at least 2 to 3 times a week! The blue bottoms just make these boots even more amazing! I will definitely be getting more colors of the Emma Jane!

Boot are beautiful and so comfortable. I was worried with ankle issues on the support for the ankle, but they are snug enough. i feel comfort and walk all day at school with them. Received many complaints.

These boots are beautiful!! I love them so much! I ordered my normal size of 8m. They were hard to get on at first. Knowing I "need" a brown pair of boots, I wore these around the house to see if I should go up a size. Nope! These are going to break in just fine. Usually, if I spend this much money on a pair of shoes, I have some remorse. Not this time...I am so in love with these boots, it is crazy!! I decided to plan a Nashville girls trip just to "break them in some more"...yeah, that's why.
