Size Guide
Lane Boots fit true to size. We recommend that you purchase the size found most in your closet. Boots should fit snug to your foot. They should be neither too tight, nor too loose. Lane Boots are handcrafted with the finest leather, inside and out, and will mold to your foot. They do not take long to break in. The break-in period will vary depending on the type and thickness of the leather.

THE PERFECT FITTING BOOT

Lane Boots are bench-made and hand-lasted. We use an exclusive "last" (the foot model our boots are built around) to make sure they are comfortable, they fit great, and they look fabulous. We use an antibacterial, moisture-wicking, padded memory foam insole along with a flexible, leather covered insole and an impact absorbing heel cushion. The combination of these features contribute to the true-size fit and comfort of Lane Boots. We are confident you will want to wear them all day long.

  • The in-step of a boot is a key fit area. The in-step area should fit snug, not too loose, and not too tight on the foot.
  • It is normal for your foot to slip a little in the heel area when trying on a new boot. If the heel of your boot is too tight, the instep may also be too tight. A tight heel could indicate that the boot is too short. When the foot is positioned too close to the toe of the boot, the toes can be constrained in the boot.
  • The ball area of your foot should be positioned evenly with the widest part of the boot for the best fit.
  • Lane Boots are offered in a variety of boot shapes, toe shapes and heel shapes. The wider the toe area is, the more relaxed the toes will be. The higher the heel of the boot, the tighter the instep may be.
With six different heights to choose from, finding your perfect pair is easy — there’s a boot made for every woman and every style under the sun.

I have been in search of a pair of tall cowgirl boots for over a decade— but being a wide-calf girlie, booties have been my only option to date. I am short and have small feet (6.5) but my calves are approx 17” in circumference. I am a mid-size girl so not like super overweight and I don’t have a medical condition causing wide calves or anything. I am just muscular and not ‘standard’ in the eyes of boot designers, I guess. I live in Alberta, so the Western style is always in fashion around here and quite frankly, I’ve felt left out. When I discovered these online with the corset feature, I had very high hopes. “Wide tongue to fit all sexy leg types.” It sounds like they get it! I was on the fence about these because Lane does not accept International Returns and they are not cheap. I eventually took the plunge and ordered them. They arrived really fast! The craftsmanship of these boots is really great. They fit perfectly in the foot so I would say they are true to size. However… the strings on the corset feature are too short so I can’t lace them up all the way. If you are looking to accommodate a wider calf, you will have to replace the laces because there is only enough length to be laced up without much extra width. This seems like a major design oversight. I can’t return them so I am stuck to find a solution on my own. I feel that I can’t be the only person with this problem… Lane should provide extra long laces if they want people of various calf sizes to take advantage of the corset feature. It would be easier to trim the length of the laces if they are too long than to have to find all new laces if they are too short. They were soooooo close to being perfect but ultimately ended up being incredibly disappointing and just made me feel like garbage about myself and my wide calves. Lane didn’t accommodate *my* sexy leg type. :(
