Lane Boots are handcrafted with the finest leather, inside and out, and will mold to your foot. They do not take long to break in. The break-in period will vary depending on the type and thickness of the leather.

Lane Boots are bench-made and hand-lasted. We use an exclusive "last" (the foot model our boots are built around) to make sure they are comfortable, they fit great, and they look fabulous. We use an antibacterial, moisture-wicking, padded memory foam insole along with a flexible, leather covered insole and an impact absorbing heel cushion. The in-step of a boot is a key fit area. The in-step area should fit snug, not too loose, and not too tight on the foot.
It is normal for your foot to slip a little in the heel area when trying on a new boot. If the heel of your boot is too tight, the instep may also be too tight. A tight heel could indicate that the boot is too short. When the foot is positioned too close to the toe of the boot, the toes can be constrained in the boot.
The ball area of your foot should be positioned evenly with the widest part of the boot for the best fit.
Lane Boots are offered in a variety of boot shapes, toe shapes and heel shapes. The wider the toe area is, the more relaxed the toes will be. The higher the heel of the boot, the tighter the instep may be.

I waited for a loooong time (2 years) for this color to be restocked in a size 5. When I ordered them, however, they arrived with calves that were huge, as if someone had stretched them a lot and then returned them, but the footbed fit. Seriously, with as tall as this boot is no one wants huge slouchy calves on their boots. I own 3 other pairs of this style and the calves are nowhere near as big as this white pair were. They only have that 1 pair in white in a size 5, so I returned them but had to pay $10 for return shipping. Very disappointed. :( I want this color so bad but I do not want to wait any longer for a restock and then possibly have to pay return shipping again.

I have waited over a year and a half for these to be restocked in a size 5. When they finally were, I bought a pair. However, the calves are twice the size that they should be. I own the red, black, and turquoise pair, and none of those have huge calves like this white pair. They fit perfect in the footbed, but it was almost as if 2 of my calves could have fit in the shaft part. I am disappointed because this is the only size 5 they have available on the website after waiting forever. :(

I love these boots… Every time I wear them I get compliments on them. They run big so get a half a size smaller than you usually wear.
