Lane Boots are handcrafted with the finest leather, inside and out, and will mold to your foot. They do not take long to break in. The break-in period will vary depending on the type and thickness of the leather.

The in-step of a boot is a key fit area. The in-step area should fit snug, not too loose, and not too tight on the foot.
It is normal for your foot to slip a little in the heel area when trying on a new boot. If the heel of your boot is too tight, the instep may also be too tight. A tight heel could indicate that the boot is too short. When the foot is positioned too close to the toe of the boot, the toes can be constrained in the boot.
The ball area of your foot should be positioned evenly with the widest part of the boot for the best fit.
Lane Boots are offered in a variety of boot shapes, toe shapes and heel shapes. The wider the toe area is, the more relaxed the toes will be. The higher the heel of the boot, the tighter the instep may be.

I originally purchased a size 7 but had to return due to them being too big. I purchased the 6.5 and they are a tad tight. I am keeping the 6.5 in hopes they stretch but so far still tight . I love Lane boots but as a solid size 7 in normal shoes there is a big difference in the 6.5 and the 7 almost needing something in between. This makes me so sad. In Plain Jane booties I am a 6.5. In Saratoga booties I am a 7. Just giving those for size reference for anyone else who may need it.

Wore them for the first time Friday to a concert, they were so comfortable.

I love this color and was so excited to get these boots to go with a dress I bought. They looked killer with the dress however they were tight and my feet actually hurt a little at the end of the night. I have several pairs of Lane boots and this is the first pair that I don’t want to wear all day!

I wanted to love these boots—my left foot certainly does. Unfortunately, the right boot is cut slightly smaller, making them unwearable as a pair. I contacted Lane, and while they acknowledged that discrepancies can happen due to the handmade nature, they offered no solution since I had worn them in hopes the right side would break in.As someone who regularly wears boots and knows how they should feel, this was a frustrating and disappointing experience. A true quality brand stands behind its craftsmanship, especially when a product is defective. I’ll be sticking with Ariat and Corral—brands that consistently deliver on both fit and customer service.
