Lane Boots fit true to size. We recommend that you purchase the size found most in your closet. Boots should fit snug to your foot. They should be neither too tight, nor too loose. Lane Boots are handcrafted with the finest leather, inside and out, and will mold to your foot. They do not take long to break in. The break-in period will vary depending on the type and thickness of the leather.

THE PERFECT FITTING BOOT

Lane Boots are bench-made and hand-lasted. We use an exclusive "last" (the foot model our boots are built around) to make sure they are comfortable, they fit great, and they look fabulous. We use an antibacterial, moisture-wicking, padded memory foam insole along with a flexible, leather covered insole and an impact absorbing heel cushion. The combination of these features contribute to the true-size fit and comfort of Lane Boots. We are confident you will want to wear them all day long.
  • The in-step of a boot is a key fit area. The in-step area should fit snug, not too loose, and not too tight on the foot.
  • It is normal for your foot to slip a little in the heel area when trying on a new boot. If the heel of your boot is too tight, the instep may also be too tight. A tight heel could indicate that the boot is too short. When the foot is positioned too close to the toe of the boot, the toes can be constrained in the boot.
  • The ball area of your foot should be positioned evenly with the widest part of the boot for the best fit.
  • Lane Boots are offered in a variety of boot shapes, toe shapes and heel shapes. The wider the toe area is, the more relaxed the toes will be. The higher the heel of the boot, the tighter the instep may be.

I opened the boxes and loved my boots, both ordered in a 7.5. One of them after wearing it more than 10 times I still need to use a bag to make it slide in my foot. I called and someone answered and suggested I keep using the bag to expand. Well I don’t see any change but love the look once they are in. I definitely don’t want to deal with the bag thing for much longer.

These boots are fabulous! The right boot on the first pair that I received fit really weird, I could not get my foot into it. I was able to exchange for a different pair and both boots fit great. Lane ships items out impressively quick and the exchange process was very easy. I'm extremely happy with my purchase, the quality is amazing and I'm look forward to buying more boots soon!

I bought the wrong size for my wife for Christmas, needed to exchange for a different size. I emailed customer service on around Christmas and got crickets. Emailed again a week later assuming they were busy with holidays. Finally got an email asking for pictures of boots (I can understand this, no issue here), and a week later got a FedEx label. Customer rep implied I would get new boots sent out as soon as Fedex tendered the package, turns out this is not the case and they said they are taking 3-5 days to process my return, yet I asked for an exchange. So now the boots my wife wanted for Christmas are sold out. So frustrating, the lag between their emails is just nuts. If you buy right the first time, Lane Boots is fine. If you need anything to do with their lethargic and unhelpful customer service, go somewhere else. Tanja and Dylan, I'm looking at you.
